* Regarding Exam 1 from 2005,  please note that there is a typo in #2,  so do not panic if your work results in a negative number of moles!

* For #3, note that there should be a subscript "m" on each appearance of "V".  As well, there should not be a subscript "m" after ")" for "(Vm-b)".

* For #4, helpful information is that Cp,m = 29.125 J/K mol.

** Other helpful information that was provided last year was that R=62.364 L Torr/K mol

In response to student requests, below is some information that may be of use:

1. (a)  w = 0; q = 1.536 kJ;  DU = 1.536 kJ;  DH = 2.092 kJ

(b) w = -556 J; q = DH = 2.092 kJ; DU = 1.536 kJ

2.  For a similar example (without the error), see Exercise 1.13 in your text.

3. p = 1233 kPa

4. (a) T = 164 K

(b) T = 171 K

5. (i) -128 kJ/mol

(ii) -121 kJ/mol

(iii) -256 kJ/mol
