        Uppsala in the 1700s shows the Cathedral with its Baroque-style towers,
        which were built after the great fire of 1702
        (previously the spires were tall Dutch Renaissance structures;
        in 1885-1893 the Baroque towers were replaced by the
        present French Gothic spires). The Gustavianum is behind the Cathedral
        but is visible. Scheele's pharmacy is 100 meters
        north, not in view. The old Laboratorium Chemicum would be over the left
        shoulder, on the left side of the river, also not
        in view. The university comprised a number of the larger buildings scattered
        about the river in this view, including some in
        Gamla Torget (Old Square) which still exist.
