Previous | Home | Next"In this house from year 1502 lived Wilhelm Bombast von Hohenheim, distinguished city doctor, until his death on September 8, 1534, from Einsiedeln in Switzerland. His son, the famous doctor, chemist, and philosopher Philippus Theophrastus, also known as Aureolus Bombastus Paracelsus, born in Einsiedeln 1493, lived here from 1502 until 1516." Actually, Paracelsus was away for studies 1509-1516, only intermittently residing here, until he departed for life after his graduation from the medical school in Ferrera. He returned home only once since then, in 1524.
