Prominently displayed by the elevator is this plaque, reminding all of the incredible contributions in the short period of time 1900-1903 that Soddy was at McGill. It was Rutherford and Soddy who for the first time realized that the transmutation of elements was not only a possibility but a natural phenomenon occurring with radioactive substances.
