The Manchester Cathedral, St. Ann's Church, and St. Mary's Church continue to be prominent landmarks. Market Street is now becoming industrialized, with warehouses for cotton. The Literary and Philosophical Society has its first permanent residence on George Street; with land acquired and a building completed in 1799. See next two photos are expanded views of the 1801 map.
