Manchester, England/manchester250Previous | Home | NextThe Portico Library is one of the structures of Dalton's time that still exists. It was built in 1806. This was a subscription library where Dalton came to read the newspapers twice a day. He was the first honorary member of the Portico Library. The view is east, at the corner of Mosley Street (left-right) and Charlotte Street (slanting to the right). Note the plaque, above and to the left of the Charlotte Street entrance at the angle of the building. |
