Previous | Home | NextThe plaque to the side of the statue. The Ardwick Cemetery was the original resting place for Dalton. This cemetery was created in 1830, but was closed in 1950; it has been cleared and converted to a school playing field (now Nicholls Field, opened in 1966, 1.4 km east of Manchester Metropolitan University, at N53 28.23 W02 12.99). The stones from Dalton's grave were removed and transferred to this site at Manchester Metropolitan University.
