Paris, France Folder C/parisC400Previous | Home | NextAfter the execution of Antoine Lavoisier, Madame Lavoisier eventually moved to a new residence at a location which is now known as Rue Lavoisier. She experienced the loss of all the wealth and possessions they had at the Arsenal and at their home at Boulevard de la Madeleine. She had to fight imprisonment and execution, but after a bitter struggle, she was successful in getting the estate back. Then she eventually settled in a new home on Rue d'Anjou-Saint-Honoré, which is now known as Rue d'Anjou, running north from Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré (also known in the past as Rue-Saint-Honoré) northward. This new home was on the outskirts of town and is barely off the area defined by the Plan de Turgot. |
