Eindhoven, Netherlands/eindhoven126Previous | Home | NextThe historic plaque translates "Physics Laboratory. Public Corporation Philips. Light Bulb Manufactory. 1923." This laboratory was conceptualized to perform basic research in the same manner as the famous General Electric Research Laboratory in Schenectady, New York, the first industrial research facility in the United States (1900). The days of invention by "rule of thumb" were over and were replaced by advanced research and networking. Courtesy, Frank Philipse. |
