Nagyag, Romania/nagyag003

This is roughly the same area of Sacaramb today. Although many tellurium minerals have been observed here -- including the type compound nagyagite (Pb13Au2Sb3Te6S16), the widely known mineral named from the Hungarian name of the village -- tellurium was actually discovered in Sibiu, Romania, in minerals from the Zlatna area (20 km north). Nagyagite is one of the few minerals which include gold in its compound formula, the others main ones being calaverite (AuTe2) and sylvanite (AuAgTe4).
