Ekaterinburg-Beresov, Russia/ekatberezov025Previous | Home | NextThis old map dates from 1900, showing the Berezovsky orefield. Each square (quadrangle) measures one verst on a side (one verst = 1.05 km). Crocoite (lead chromate, PbCrO4) was discovered in 1764 at the Tsvetnoi Mine (meaning "Painted Mine"). The Tsvetnoi quadrangle border is identified by the green border. This mineral was given the permanent name "crocoite" for its saffron color. Map, courtesy, Ivan A.. Baksheev. |
