St. Petersburg, Russia/stpet021Previous | Home | NextWalking westward along Universitetskaya Nab. (Naberezhnaya), which means "University Embankment." Commonly in St. Petersburg, streets along the Neva River are called "Nab." instead of the usual "Ul." (Ulitza = street) or "Pr." (Prospekt = avenue). This walk takes us to the St. Petersburg State University and the Mendeleev Museum. The view is north, with the Bolshaya Neva (Big Neva) to our backs. See next photo for a plaque. |
