St. Martin's Cathedral has particular historical importance because of the strategic location of Bratislava -- located at the intersection of present Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Hungary. Between 1536 and 1830, eleven kings and queens were crowned at St. Martin's Cathedral.
