Göteborg (Gothenburg) was a prosperous city when Scheele was a pharmacy apprentice here (1757-1765). This view is eastward, from a position near the confluence of the Stora Hamnkanalen (shipping canal) with Göta Älv (the river), about 200 meters west of the present Kämpebron (bridge).
