This is a portrait of Johann Froben (1460-1527) by Hans Holbein, 1522/23. Paracelsus cured the leg ailment of Froben in Basel in 1527. This made the fame of Paracelsus. Froben (also known by his Latin name Johannes Frobenius) was a printer in Basel, and helped make that city the leader of the German book trade. Paracelsus lived for a short period in the home of Froben.
