Previous | Home | NextIn the city of Einsiedeln, 5 km to the south, the Benediktinerabtei (Benedictine Abbey) is the prominent landmark, 100 meters southwest of the Paracelsus memorial (see next photo). There is a long history to this abbey; it has been a destination for pilgrimmage for a millenium. Of particular interest to visitors is the Black Madonna. The present buildings were finished in 1746.
