This is the main entrance to New LeConte Hall. Directly inside is a showcase with portraits of Nobel Laureates from Berkeley: McMillan (neptunium, the first transuranium element), Chamberlain (anti-proton), Segrè (anti-proton), Glaser (bubble chamber), Townes (maser), Alvarez (hydrogen bubble chamber). This is only a partial list, with a grand total from Berkeley of 8 physics, 7 in chemistry, 4 in economics, and 1 in literature. One can pass through this building to the Old LeConte Hall.
