This grand Arizona event has been held annually for over half a century, having started as a local show in 1955 and rapidly growing to international renown. Of particular interest to scholars of "Rediscovery" is the satellite event, the Arizona Mineral and Fossil Show, where worldwide mineral professionals exhibit and vend their specialties. It is here that the authors for over a decade have made contacts with foreign mineralogists and have collected a large portion of their international mineral specimens.
