Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen
1845-1923
He was a German physicist who was the first recipient of the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901 for his discovery of X- rays. He was professor of physics at the universities of Strasbourg, Giessen, and Wurzburg and Munich. Element 111, Roentgenium, was named for him. | ||
