Ahmad Najafian

Ahmad Najafian

Ahmad Najafian is a fourth year graduate student in Dr. Cundari's research group. He is working on the effect of metal identity and different chemical factors upon the activation of methane carbon-hydrogen bonds and conversion of ammonia to N2 by metal catalysts with computational methods. Also, since November 2017, he has had the great opportunity to collaborate with Reata Pharmaceuticals on drug design and protein modeling using docking, QM, MD, QM/MM methods.

Ahmad received his Master’s degree in inorganic chemistry at the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Tehran. In his MS thesis work, his research focused on the synthesis and characterization of metal complexes and developing heterogeneous catalysts for degradation of organic pollutants and the oxidation of alkenes. He also has experience working at Abidi Pharmaceuticals as a quality control chemist.
