Previous | Home | NextFrancis Wollaston (1769-1815), the father of William Hyde Wollaston, was rector here 1769-1815. Francis was also an astronomer and a member of the Royal Society. He had his own telescope he used in his astronomical observations. There were three generations of FRS (Fellow of the Royal Society) -- this Francis, his father Francis, and his son Willliam Hyde Wollaston. All 17 of Rev. Francis' children had middle names of Hyde, after their mother Althea née Hyde Wollaston.
