1618 Henry Wicker discovered the spring during a severe drought and its medicinal qualities began to be appreciated.
1621 Area around spring was enclosed and it became known as the Wells.
1620 Dutch visitors recorded. Other Europeans followed.
1640 Epsom Waters became famous and the Spa town was in full development.
1663 Samuel Pepys, the diarist, recorded his first visit.
1665 Attendance lessened because of the Great Plaque.
1688 Waters available in bottles and a Mail Service serving London was established (1684)."
