The red brick building (far right) is the edge of this development (see next photo). William Crookes frequently visited his farm and had a home laboratory, where he performed preliminary work, including spectroscopic research, before his continuing research at his home at Mornington Road {LINK: London4-004} where he moved in 1858 and where he discovered thallium in 1861.
