This is a second postcard showing Åbo in 1840, but this time northeastward from another vantage point on Samppelinnan vuori (Samppelinnan hill). Obviously a great deal of reconstruction and repair has been done since the Great Fire of 1827. The Aura River leads from left to right by the cathedral, just to the right of center. The observatory, now elaborated beyond its structure of 1823, is to the far right.
