Previous | Home | NextThis biography reminds us that Gustav's father (Valentine Rose the Younger 1762-1807) and grandfather (Valentin Rose the Elder (1736-1771) were apothecaries. Just as important his brother Heinrich Rose (1795-1864), Professor of Chemistry in Berlin, analyzed some of his minerals returned from the Siberian trip. Gustav Rose was Professor of Mineralogy at Berlin who developed a Mineral system that related to both chemistry and crystallographic structure.
