6th of nine photos describing Agricola's stay at St. Joachimstahl. He wrote a book entitled Bermannus, a catechism on mining techniques and lore. It was in this book that Agricola first explained that bismuth was a separate metal, thus distinguishing it from the other classic metals known to the ancients. In this sense Agricola might be considered the "discoverer" of bismuth.
