This is a wax replica of the original Latin plaque, dating back to the year A.D. 131! Rome had extended its empire into this region with the campaigns of Trajan (emperor A.D. 98-117) and took over the gold mines of the territory, then known as Dacia (See next photo). The Romans abandoned Dacia in 275.
