The fountain is known as "Roland's Fountain" (Rolandova fontána), sometimes known as Maximilan Fountain, constructed by Maximillian II, the King of Hungary in 1572 as a public water source of Pozsony. Look carefully in the center: the building extending from the Old Town Hall tower is a museum.
