Research Projects for Corrosion Protection

Bioinspired nanocomposite coatings for corrosion resistance
This research project develops new nanocomposite metal/layered ceramic (MLC) coatings for corrosion protection on stainless steel and other metal substrates through electrochemical processing.
Film configurations for electrochemical enucleation-limited doping model and nanoindentation of hardness of thin film nanocomposites showing 40% increase.
Zinc-Nickel alloys deposited from alkaline solutions
This work focuses on the electrochemical deposition of the γ-phase zinc-nickel alloy under mild alkaline conditions. The deposits obtained result in better coatings and more uniform grain size as well as improved corrosion resistance.
